Rakuten Authenticator is a free Android app developed by Rakuten Group Inc. that works as Multi Factor Authentication for your Rakuten services. It provides an extra security layer for your account by eliminating the need for passwords. You can link your device authentication method (e.g face ID and/or fingerprint) or a personal PIN that will only be valid from your trusted device.
Setting up the app is easy; you just need to scan a QR code and link your preferred authentication method. Rakuten Authenticator app is based on FIDO authentication protocols, ensuring high-level security. Your information never leaves your local device, and Rakuten only receives confirmation of successful authentication. It cannot access your PIN code or biometric information such as fingerprints or facial features.
